  After five years of reinstatement or from the end of a committee that is a private reproof they are supposed to be destroyed. I know, I was a publisher when I was reproved and five years later I was an elder and destroyed my own letter in the files. In the box were at least thirty files that should have been destroyed as those individuals were all reinstated and in good standing for many years. Some dumbass had written the offenses on the outside of the envelopes! It was frightening to find out who had sex with animals! I destoyed all those too. YUCK!

  I dont know how long they keep the envelopes of people who haven't returned, till they do plus five years ideally I suppose.

  i made it up the ranks fast, you were not anybody if you did not become an elder, i was appointed at an early age.

  Last Night A Young Elder Got Announced As Being---- Deleted!

  my mom told me that the new elder that just got appointed 6 months ago was now deleted.

  this young man is in his early 30's, unmarried, and now history.

  what could've happened??

  It used to be that an elder would "Step Down" from his responsibilities when he resigned. Now he "Deletes" himself. Step down sounded as if he were "Higher" than everyone else to begin with, hence the change in witwordage.

  I deleted myself from both pioneering and my elder responsibilities at the same time. Wow, when they announced it I had a couple of friends come up and ask if they could still talk to me!!!! It was unblievable! They didn't know me well enough to know that I was extremely ill from my diabetes and insensed at the hypocrisy I encountered among those with responsibility, ie: the old boys club of DO's and CO's.

  Its all about the bottom line and the amount of placements with this corporate religion.

  If Jesus is the chief CEO of these nutjobs the earth has a real problem. "Picnic with a Panda" world aint gonna be so great.

  Was Simplification the Downfall of the Watchtower?

  a thought i had daydreaming while at the recent convention .

  old timers in the organization often reminisce about the way the wts was many years ago.

  attending a convention meant (a) getting hot meals, (b) orchestra music before and during sessions, and (c) two, three, or even four dramas.

  You are not blind, you are astute.

  It was a real blow to the publishers to begin handing out books that looked like some Salvation Army or Alcoholics Anon book. Took the steam out of some. I stopped publishing the Greed News just about the time the books became paperbacks. It wasn't the books that motivated me to fade, it just seemed to coincide with my timing. I don't much like the paperbacks. I think the main thing is, the rank and file want to know where the money is going if its not into quality publications. That is probably the biggest concern they may have about the reduction in quality.

  Ok, I still use heroin, meth, pot and drink vollumes... Oh, my mistake, you asked what "Dub" habits? I thought you said, "drug" habits.

  Honestly, never used drugs. Still have trouble with the whole national anthem thing and dont do holidays, no one seems to care.

  Disassociation letter2

  so... i finally have thought about somethings that i want to say in my letter to disassociate... in my last topic starter regarding this, someone had meantioned disfellowship papers?

  why would they be sending disfellowshipment papers if i take myself out?.

  in the letter, i am thinking about making the one to my friends kinda short and sweet and to the point.

  i have been out for the most part since 1985. i was told by a friend, that in that year, they changed their views on association with df'd family members.

  (i wouldnt know, thats the year i got the boot lol) .

  i always thought up till this day, it was ok for imediate family members, but just not to eat with them.

  When I was "Joe" elder I always figured that if it was a close family member it was a "hands off" matter. There is no way of knowing what is "necessary family business" to an outsider. Plus inside I believed it was all a bunch of crap. The "close family member" thing can play both ways, the smart ones know how to use it without consequences. I'd seen youngsters, (17 or so who were living on thier own) with mental illness DF'd that other elders expected parents not to have contact with. These kids needed meds and help from thier family. Including family that didn't "LIVE" with them. I took issue with this and told the family to do what the hell they thought was right. Thank goodness they blew off the other elder's advice and treated thier child with the love they deserved. One couple invited thier son to live with them again.

  Here's hoping all your family members use it to your advantage, you DF'd ones. (sane and insane, lol) !!!!!
